This is the third volume of life tables constructed by the Bureau from Census 2008. In this release, the Bureau has constructed general life tables for South Sudan and the states both complete and abridged.
The construction utilized the age specific mortality rates for each sex which were calculated in the sex specific life tables to get the expected deaths from the population. The first eleven tables are complete life tables for South Sudan and the ten states. The next eleven tables beginning from Table 12 are abridged life tables.
It is the hope of the Bureau that the planners especially for the Ministry of Health both at GRoSS and the state levels will use these indicators in setting targets so as to improve quality of life of the people of South Sudan.
